4th Annual Wine and Waves Festival
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th March 2010 ** FREE ENTRY ** ** SIGNATURE WINE GLASS - $5 ** The annual Wine and Waves Festival presents a showcase of fine wine and food from Newcastle and the Hunter Valley in the beachside suburb of Merewether. Purchase your signature wine glass for just $5 and sample the fantastic range of some of the hunter’s finest drops. Wines are sold by the glass or by the bottle.  Against the backdrop of one of the region’s best and renowned beaches, Merewether, the Wine and Waves Festival provides an unparalleled ambience in which to enjoy all that is great about the Hunter’s food, wine, entertainment and culture. Although a stand alone event, Wine and Waves is presented in conjunction with the 25 year old Surfest event and takes place over the finals weekend of the world pro surfing circuit contest. Wine and Waves has established itself as an independent and high profile cultural festival for inner city Newcastle and the wider Hunter region and whilst food and wine events are not unique in the Hunter, Wine and Waves provides a fresh approach to the traditional food and wine event in a fantastic location.
